Components used in locomotives can vary significantly depending on vehicle type, engine and traction system, electrical architecture and operating conditions. ÖZAR GROUP evaluates technical specifications, drawings, part definitions and project requirements together to support accurate product selection and application matching.

Locomotive parts are grouped by the system they serve. Below you can see which system the main products supplied by Özar Group belong to and what they do.
The traction motor produces the tractive effort of the locomotive. Motor torque is passed to the wheelset axle through a gear unit. This group includes the Traction Motor Housing for Locomotives, Traction Motor Armature Shaft, Traction Motor Bearing, Axle-Mounted Gearbox and Traction Motor Cooling System.
In diesel locomotives, the force from combustion is passed through the piston to the crankshaft and converted into rotation. The cylinder liner and cylinder head form the combustion chamber. This group includes the Locomotive Crankshaft, Locomotive Piston, Locomotive Cylinder Head and Locomotive Cylinder Liner.
Electric locomotives take energy from the overhead line through the pantograph. This group includes the Locomotive Pantograph.
On a locomotive, the automatic brake control system controls brake application and brake pipe pressure. At the end of the wheelset axle sits the axlebox, which houses the bearing. See the Automatic Brake Control System, Railway Brake Systems and Railway Axlebox.
